Wedding
Ceremonies
Your
Wedding Day
This
is your day - you choose where and when you would like your
ceremony to take place.
Whether
it be
- On one of our beautiful North Queensland Beaches
- A backyard setting
- A function centre
- Cruising the Whitsunday’s on a luxury yacht
- In a park or Botanical Gardens
- In a chapel - Hamilton Island or Daydream Island chapel
Your
ceremony can be at any time of the day; morning, noon
or night.
Where
to Begin
Before we get into the exciting part of picking dresses and
shoes we need to meet to complete a Notice of Intended
Marriage (Click here
to download a copy of the Notice of Intended Marriage
form from the Australian Government Attorney-General's
Department or I can supply one for you.)
This
form must be lodged with me at least 1 month and 1 day prior
to your ceremony.
If
you were born in
Australia
, you must provide an original birth certificate for
identification purposes.. If you need to obtain a certificate,
an official copy can be obtained from the Registry of Births,
Deaths and Marriages in the state where you were born. by
contacting Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in
all Australian states.
If
you were born outside of
Australia
, your original birth certificate is the preferred document
for identification purposes, but an overseas passport is also
acceptable.
If
you have been married previously, you will need to provide
documentation showing how the marriage was terminated (e.g. by
dissolution or death).
Living
outside
Australia
Couples can contact me to have the "Notice of Intended
Marriage" form emailed to them which will then need to be
completed in the presence of an Australian consular
officer, an Australian diplomatic officer or any Notary
Public.
This
document, along with copies of your birth certificates (or if
these are not available copies of the passports of the country
of birth) should then be posted for me to have in my
possession at least one month and one day before the date of
your ceremony.
If either party has been married before, you must provide
documentation of the termination of that marriage.
A
deposit is required initially to secure your selected date and
time. I will then provide you with your own personal folder
containing selections of ceremonies that I have created.
Your
Ceremony
For any size or style of wedding that you dream of - whether
you are eloping, hosting a small and intimate occasion,
calling for a formal and traditional ceremony, creating new
traditions and rituals or just having a party to celebrate and
inviting all your friends ... you can have the ceremony you
want. Your relationship is unique and having a ceremony that
is in harmony with your beliefs, ideas and personal style is
important. This is the time to celebrate your love and
friendship, your dreams and goals together.
There
are many ways in which to include family members and friends,
cultural symbols, poems or songs if you so desire. Together,
we'll create a ceremony that you are both really happy with.
I
offer unlimited assistance with the choosing and writing of
your ceremony, and great ideas and support so that you will
have a ceremony that you both will love!
I
provide a public address system that ensures your guests will
hear your ceremony, whether we are inside, or out on the
beach. This comes with a battery pack, CD player & MP3 to
ensure we can play your music whether we have power or not.
There
are three documents to be signed during your ceremony;
- The
Certificate of Marriage
- The
Marriage Register
- And
the presentation Marriage Certificate.
You
will need 2 witnesses over the age of 18 to sign these
documents.
At
the end of your ceremony you will receive your presentation
Marriage Certificate and a bound copy of your ceremony as a
keepsake.
You
will still need to apply through Births Deaths & Marriages
for your Registered Marriage Certificate, which I can assist
you with. There is a fee to acquire this.
You
are now married
The lodgment and registration of your marriage will be sent to
the
Queensland
Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages following your
ceremony.
From
our first meeting. It will be apparent to you of my devotion
to you and your special day.
